Reginella, Federico “Fred”,84, of Oakmont and formerly of Greenfield passed peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017.  Born in Pereto, Italy, son of the late Rinaldo and Francesca Reginella. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 Years, Rose Marie.  Former Director of Engineering and Construction of the City of Pittsburgh from 1994-2004. In addition former Chief of the Structural Engineering Departments of the Comstock Company, Swindell-Dressler Company, and the Peter F. Loftus Corporation. Fred's outstanding career included achievements such as the Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania award "Engineer of the Year" 2004 as well as the American Society of Civil Engineers Pittsburgh Section award for Service to the People 2003.  Pittsburgh City Council issued an official Proclamation declaring December 20th, 2004 "FRED REGINELLA DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh. His birth town of Pereto, Italy officially declared August 5th 2005 as "Federico Reginella Day".  Fred was also a proud leader and member of many other Professional and Civic organizations including The Italian Sons and Daughter's of America and the American Society of Highway Engineers.  Fred is survived by his loving children Joseph (Donna), Thomas (Laurie Rossetti), and Francine (Anthony) Pugliese. Cherished Pop-Pop of Anthony, Vincent, Marco, Nina, and Miko. Also survived by his brother Frank, sister in-law Ruthane L. Reginella Ph.D,  brother in-law Jack Abbenante, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition Fred is survived by relatives in Italy. Friends will be received on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Funeral on Friday at 9:30 A.M. with funeral mass at 10:0 A.M. in St Rosalia church.
