Andrew “Andy” Kichi March 6, 1928 – March 26, 2025
Andrew “Andy” Kichi, 97, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 6, 1928, Andy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend to many.
Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice (McIntire), his son Mark, and grandson Zachary. His legacy of love and strength continues through his surviving family: Loving children: Andrea, Gary (Cathy), Karl (Shannon), Eric (Christine), Adriene, and daughter-in-law DeDe, as well as his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
A proud lifelong resident of Pittsburgh’s Greenfield neighborhood, Andy raised his family with warmth and dedication on Kaercher Street, filling their home with laughter and treasured memories. A man of principle and unwavering loyalty, Andy served his country as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps (1946-1950), enduring the hardships of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. True to the Marine Corps creed, Andy firmly believed that “once a Marine, always a Marine.”
Known for his outspokenness, quick wit, and spirited personality, Andy left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Those fortunate to share in his life remember him as a source of wisdom, humor, and boundless love. He departed this world well loved and ready to reunite with his cherished Alice.
