With heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of beloved Annette Whetstone who left us peacefully on February 22nd, 2025 at the age of 88. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
Annette was born on October 3rd, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Throughout her life, she brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Whether through a warm smile, a kind word, or a quick-witted joke, she had a way of making life just a little brighter.
Now united in heaven with her beloved late husband, Dempsey Whetstone, and her late children, Timothy Whetstone and Heather Schwartz. Daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Fox and preceded in death by her siblings Joseph, Robert, Mary Alice, Richard, Edward, Thomas, Margaret, and Kathleen. Survived by her brothers William (Gloria) and Gerald (Cathy) Fox.
Precious Nana to granddaughters Jenna and Erica Schwartz, Kristie, and the late Brianna Whetstone. Cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews, especially Shannon (Bob) Rady and Colleen Fox, who lovingly cared for her until the end.
In her free time, Annette loved baking, gardening, and watching endless reruns of Walker Texas Ranger. Most importantly, she had a deep love for her family and always knew how to make the most of every moment.
Annette’s warmth and sense of humor were infectious, and those who knew her will forever cherish the laughter and memories they shared. Her legacy of love, light, and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
Friends will be received on, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Funeral Friday, at 9:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Cathedral Parish--St. Rosalia Worship Site.
