Clementine Solari

Solari Clementine (Picone) It is with great sadness that the family of Clementine Solari announces her sudden passing following a brief illness on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 87. A proud lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Clementine was born on June 1, 1931 on Wylie Avenue, daughter of the late Basilico Picone and the late Francesca Cantafio Picone.  She was the wife of 52 years to her beloved late Dolso John Solari; the devoted sister of the late Sebastian (Martha) Picone; treasured mother of Francine (Tom) Pitcairn and the late Elena ( surviving  husband Steve) Masters and  the proud nana to Olivia Pitcairn, the late Julian Masters, Peter Masters, & Samuel Pitcairn; and great-nana to 3 adoring dogs, Biscuit, Clem, & Leo. Family and friends were Clementine’s passion and delight.  Known for her sharp wit and stylish dress, Clementine was one of the kindest, classiest, and most intelligent women one could ever have the pleasure of meeting.  She was fiercely protective and loyal to those she loved; a devoted Pittsburgh sports fan; and a great ambassador of this city she adored.Clementine attended Westinghouse High School where she graduated valedictorian, class secretary, and yearbook editor.   Together with her husband, they founded and operated Solari Electric Company for 27 years. Visitors will be received Friday January 4 from 4-8 PM at the EDWARD P. KANAI Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15207.  Funeral & burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made & sent to:  The Mirra Gavran Memorial Fund, c/o Lawlor and Lawlor, 979 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
