Eleanor O’Hanlon Cunningham of Pittsburgh, PA beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 1, 2025, at the age of 90. A remarkable woman, Ellie was a beacon of love and warmth, cherished by all who knew her. Born into a large, loving family, she was predeceased by her husband, Jack Cunningham, and her siblings: Joseph, Adele, Natalie, Bernard, Dolores, David, William, and Margaret. She also mourned the loss of her grandson, Jack (Cathy and Steve Yee). Till the end, her spirit remained vibrant and full of life. Ellie is survived by her brother Edward O’Hanlon, daughter, Catherine Cunningham-Yee (Steven Yee) and son, Curtis Cunningham (Mariah Miano). She will be dearly missed by her treasured grandchildren Steven Tai, Liam, Zachary, Aubrie and great-grandson, Malakai Lomboy-Yee. Ellie adored all her nieces and nephews, treating them as her own, and creating lifelong bonds. A proud child of Greenfield, Ellie often shared stories about her hometown even while in the hospital with her nurses and doctors, reminding everyone of the strong roots that grounded her. Her faith was unwavering, and she remained devout in her Catholic beliefs throughout her life. Ellie loved her family fiercely and found joy in the simple pleasures of life a good story, a good book, and laughter shared with family. Her legacy of love, kindness, and an indomitable spirit will live in the hearts of those she touched. Though she may no longer be with us, her love will be felt for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Eleanor. You are loved beyond measure and will be missed dearly. Visitation will take place at Kanai Funeral Home in Greenfield on Friday, Feb 7 from 2-7. Funeral service will take place at St Rosalia’s Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb 8, 2025, at 10am.
