Francis "Jerry" Helbling

Francis J. Helbling “Jerry” 82 of Greenfield. Passed away the morning of May 29, 2024. He worked at the University of Pittsburgh for 37 years before retiring. Jerry is the son of the late Francis and Mary Elizabeth Helbling. Beloved brother of Christine (Dennis) Brown, Claire (Bill) Nolan, Joan (Rich) Ellison and the late Elaine (Don) Gurtner. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Some of his happiest days were spent being a great Uncle to Gabby, Flip, and A.J. He was a loyal fan of Notre Dame and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His Happy place was at Slippery Rock campground where he got to spend precious time with friends and family. Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 P.M. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave . 15207. Funeral Saturday at 9:30 in the funeral home with funeral mass at 10 A.M. as St. Paul Cathedral Parish St. Rosalia. In lieu of flowers donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to the Western Pa Humane society or Make A Wish.
