Jacqueline Marie Stebler (Ketterer) of Pittsburgh, born November 16, 1930, peacefully went to be with the lord on November 9, 2025. Daughter of the late Bertha Ketterer, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerard Stebler, sisters Bertha Holmes, Carol Baehr, Marlyn Drost, and Sandy Oldaker, son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Linda Stebler, and grandson David Culley Jr.
Lovingly known as Jackie, she was most proud of her big, beautiful family. She leaves behind six additional children, Keith (Susan) Stebler, Kerry (Karen) Stebler, Karen (David) Culley, Kathleen (Paul) Morrow, Kristine Stebler, and Korene (William) Kegg. Jackie was blessed with eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and many other children, and generations of grandchildren by marriage and by love.
Jackie was originally from Pittsburgh’s Northside and spent her later years living in Greenfield. She was a helper and would do anything for anyone, expecting nothing in return. Her home was always a safe and welcoming environment, and she often took in others in need, offering a place to sleep and setting an extra place at the table.
Jackie was a hard-working person, starting with helping in her family businesses as a child and then helping to support her own family by working at Murphy’s. She also worked at GNC warehouse, Eat n’ Park, and at the Greenfield Senior Center among others.
Perhaps one of Jackie’s greatest legacies is her dance studio she operated out of her basement, offering affordable lessons for the children in the neighborhood that wanted to learn. She opened her home and her heart and was up all hours of the night sewing costumes and planning the spring show.
Jackie loved to travel and went on trips on tour buses often accompanied by her family. Some of her favorite places to travel were Disney Land, Dolly Wood, and Rocking Horse Ranch but above all she loved taking her whole family to Conneaut Lake Park every year.
Jackie’s favorite hobby at home was sewing and she would spend hours sitting at her sewing machine creating. During covid, Jackie took her sewing talents to the front-line making 6,000 masks for her family, friends, and neighbors. She was even known to hand them out to people in the local grocery store and was featured in the newspaper and local new channels for her efforts.
Though Jackie will be greatly missed, her family and friends take comfort knowing that she lived a full and beautiful life.
Friends and family will be received Thursday from 3-8 p.m. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15207. A Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Friday. Interment to follow at Mt. Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw.
