James Panaia Obituary

Friday July 17th 2026, peacefully at home in his sleep Jim left this earth to begin his final journey “Above the clouds” with family, friends and past coworkers from 42 years of working at CSX Railroad and later as a security guard at the sq hill giant eagle.

He will prepare the way for the love of his life, his best friend soulmate, partner and wife of 40 years Linda, for when she is ready to join him. He got there first so she couldn’t run into the arms of Elvis (He said he would).

He will be watching over those he loved, his daughter Nicki (Eric), Daughter Ashley Starr, grandkids Samantha, Tyler, Kayah, Eric, Aiden, Austin and great-granddaughter Willow. Also blessed with Margaret (Steve), Danny, (Bridget), Michael (Cindy), Patty (David), nieces and nephews Amber, Eric, Lynn, Josh, Asyha, Michael, Daniel, Jenna, Shawda, Michelle, Stevie, Alex, Danielle, Amber, and sister Betty Ann. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen Panaia, brother Sonny and sister Terri.

He is in a better place because mom is doing the cooking. Sorry Elvis, no peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Just stuffed cabbage and haluski.

Jim you are forever in my heart I will always love you; you will always be My Man. Till we meet again. Love, Linda your Woman.

Arrangements entrusted to The Edward P Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207.
