John Strahan, Jr, 90, of Greenfield, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Born on January 24, 1934, he was the loving son of the late John and Anna Strahan. He is survived by his sister, Marianne (Francis) Harbist. John is also survived by one niece, Susan M. (William) Vanselow and two nephews, John P. (Elizabeth) Harbist and Francis J. (Martha) Harbist; 3 great-nephews, 5 great-nieces and 3 great-great nephews. John was a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School and the University of Pittsburgh having earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. John was a pitcher for Pitt’s varsity baseball team. He worked as a Sales Engineer for Mesta Machine Company. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with Parastas at 7:00 p.m. in the EDWARD P. KANAI FUNERAL HOME, 500 GREENFIELD AVENUE. Funeral service will be officiated by Rev Fr Tyler Wisniewski at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Cavalry Cemetery.
