Every day that the sun rises, each human is granted the choice to exist or to live. Joseph A. Dugan III lived each day bravely and ferociously until he passed on May 10, 2023. Born in Washington, D.C. with a gentle soul and an adventurer’s spirit, Joey enhanced the lives of all he met. He had an easy charm and contagious laugh that easily engaged people. With a career in retail, Joey will be remembered for his fun but fair leadership. As an artist and performer, he will be remembered for his originality and talent. With honor and integrity seared into his DNA, Joey was fiercely loyal and supportive to those he chose as family.
He reluctantly leaves behind his doting and beloved mother, Judy Dugan; Aunt Robin Lynch and her friend, Rodney and granddaughter, Zoe; Aunt Mariana Knapp, Uncle Joseph Torcaso and wife Kim; cousins, and extended chosen family; friends and colleagues.
As a proud cat dad, Joey is reunited with Raja, Jazmin, and Meeko on the Rainbow Bridge and wait for when his dear Mya will join them.
