Kenneth Buettner Sr., a beloved Greenfield native, passed away on February 21, 2024, in Jupiter, Florida. He was born on April 27, 1951, and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and community.

 

Ken's passion for baseball began in his hometown of Greenfield. Over the course of six decades, he dedicated himself to the sport as a player, coach, organizer, and supporter. His commitment to Greenfield baseball was unwavering and inspiring. Ken's impact extended beyond the field when he initiated the annual Greenfield Baseball golf outing—a testament to his enduring love for the game.

 

In addition to his contributions to sports in his community, Ken served as the president of Foto Hut—a renowned Pittsburgh film developing business—for many years until his retirement in 2003. His leadership left an indelible mark on both employees and customers alike.

 

An avid golfer with an unyielding passion for the game, Ken found joy in playing multiple times weekly alongside lifelong friends Ray Secoili and Gerry Pecora. Their camaraderie brought him immeasurable happiness throughout their shared rounds.

 

He is survived by those who loved him dearly: Son Kenneth Buettner Jr. and daughters Amanda (Larry) Busch and Amber (Michael) Bair; Grandsons, whom he passed his love of baseball, Kenny III, Nathan and Louie; Granddaughters, whom he passed his love of golf, Amelia and Addison; significant other Susan Brown; sisters Mary Jo (Chris) Petterson Eileen (Daryl) Hollinshead Charlene Lyons along with numerous nieces nephews cousins friends neighbors colleagues all whom will miss him deeply

 

 

A funeral service honoring Ken's life will be held at Edward P Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207 on Sunday March 17th from 2-6 p.m., where family members friends acquaintances can gather together to share memories celebrate his life and offer support to one another during this difficult time.
