Mary C. Smigiel

Mary Catherine Smigiel (Vilsack) 74 years old. Lost her courageous battle with several illnesses on August 14, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Regis Vilsack, Sr. and Mary Vilsack (Kavchak). She is survived by her husband Edward Smigiel, and brothers Regis (The late Karen) and Eugene (Sandy) as well as several nieces and nephews, godchildren, and many dear friends. Mary last resided in East McKeesport and grew up and spent much of her life in Greenfield where she attended St Rosalia school. She was a kind and caring person who filled our hearts with love and our mailboxes with greeting cards. She loved playing bingo and always got the best birthday cakes. Her cards, cakes and mostly her big heart will be missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in The Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. A Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 8 p.m. after Visitation.
