Mary Ann Vasko, age 85. Lifelong Greenfield resident and member of St. Rosalia Parish passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5th, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh on April 13th, 1939. Graduated St. Rosalia High School in 1957. Her close friends called her "Minky". A blind date led to marriage in 1958 to Francis "Fran" Vasko from McKeesport. Preceded in death by her parents, Andrew, and Mary Barna; husband, Francis G. Vasko; sisters Geraldine Barna and Darlene (Dale) Anderson; brother, Andrew "Sonny" Barna. Survived by her loving children Deborah Ann "Debbie" Vasko, David A. Vasko, and Daniel M. Vasko. Also survived by her very dear brothers Robert (Marian) Barna & John "Jack" (Janet) Barna. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann always told her children that she "loved being a mom". She enjoyed being a wife and homemaker, she was an excellent cook and baker. Known for her big heart, she excelled in listening to others and helping those in need. Her dogs Minky and Crimper (a rescue) were adored by her. Mary Ann collected angels; she loved daisies and enjoyed the birds and squirrels she fed in her yard. Her support, wisdom, and tender love will be missed by all, especially her children.
