Mary Anne Carroll Obituary
Mary Anne (Williams) Carroll, 73, of Squirrel Hill, passed away on September 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma.
A lifelong educator, Mary Anne touched the lives of hundreds of children and their families. But her greatest joy in life was her family.
Mary Anne is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 41 years, Robert Carroll, and their three daughters: Zara Bigley (Brock), Maggie Bova (Dave and sons Joey and Tommy), and Kelsey Frank (Matthew). She was the adored “Mimmer” of Zoe, Reagan, and Maddie.
Born in Castle Shannon, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine (Lamb) Williams, and her sisters, Julie Coyne (Terry) and Suzanne McDougall (William).
She is survived by her siblings, Jerry Williams (Anita), Thomas Williams (Diana), Paul Williams, Jim Williams (Jackie), John Williams (Luz Marina), Betsy Leibfried (Glenn), Dianne Nolin (Steve), Matthew Williams (Colleen), and Mark Williams (Tammy). She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary Anne loved to cook Sunday dinners for her family and loved her family most of all. She was an avid reader and Wordle player. Her happy place was the beach, in the sun, where she felt most at peace.
Her steady presence and calming spirit will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Our worlds will be forever changed by her absence.
