Michael J. Boby 77, of Penn Hills passed peaceful surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday February 10, 2026. Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen Boby. Survived by his loving wife of 45 years Maggie "Margie" Hohman Boby; beloved children Dana Boby, Madeline (Emma) Boby-Pratt and Melissa (Christopher Whittelsey) Boby; Beloved grandchildren Nathan, Rowan, Olivia and one great grandchild; siblings Charles (Roberta) Boby, Joan (Norman Axler) Gitlin and Thomas (Tina) Boby: As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was fortunate to build not one, but two careers that brought him deep pride and purpose. He spent more than 20 years as a general manager with Eat’n Park. Yet it was in tile and marble design and installation that he discovered what was likely his true calling—a craft he devoted himself to for more than 40 years.
Mike’s work spoke for itself. He never needed to advertise; clients were willing to wait for him. Among fellow contractors, interior designers, and tile and marble suppliers, he earned a reputation for excellence — one he richly deserved.
For over 25 years, Mike faced Parkinson’s disease with characteristic grit and determination. He refused to let it define or limit him. Whatever challenges it presented, he found a way to adapt, persevere, and continue doing what he loved—his trademark stubbornness serving him well.
Above all, Mike’s greatest pride was his family. He was wholly devoted to his children, his Maddie and Melissa, and was overjoyed by the arrival of his granddaughter, Olivia. He and his beloved wife, Maggie, shared 45 years of enduring love and partnership. In 2019, they were blessed with a trip of a lifetime through Europe, creating memories they cherished together to the very end.
Friends will be received Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in The Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave 15207. A Blessing service will take place on Monday at 7:30 following the visitation.
