Patricia Marino Obituary

Marino Patricia Ann (Pat), of Greenfield on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, peacefully returned to God at age 94. Born in McKeesport, PA, to the late Nettie and Wilson Esken. Beloved wife of Bill Marino. Loving mother of Lynn (Bob) and Bill (Jacqueline). Cherished grandmother (Gungie, Mimi) of Kristen, Carly, Valerie, and Blaise. Much-loved sister of the late Betty, Bill, Peg, Jim, and Jack. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.

After graduating from McKeesport High School, Pat worked at the Oakland branch of Mellon Bank, where she made life-long friends and met her husband of 69 years. After raising her children, she went to work as a case worker for the United States House of Representatives. It was the perfect job for her—taking care of others. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Philomena Parish and school until it closed. She was especially active in the lady’s guild where she held many leadership positions.

Pat enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, and especially spending time with and taking care of her family and friends. She enjoyed hosting many parties and picnics. She loved unexpected company, especially on Sundays when she always had extra pasta and meatballs. Her smile, sense humor, and love of life will be missed but forever remembered.

Her legacy will live in the many lives she touched with her kindness, compassion, generosity, and creativity. Her children will remember her for her unwavering love and gift of faith that she instilled in them and that her life so clearly exemplified.

Pat did not want anyone to be sad at her passing. She wanted everyone to smile when you think of all the fun you had with her.

Friends will be received at Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Avenue, on Sunday from 2-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 at St Paul Cathedral Parish--St. Rosalia Worship Site, celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. Burke and Stephen A. Kresak. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
