Age 73, of Greenfield, passed away on September 23, 2021, just 2 days shy of his 50th wedding anniversary. Son of the late Stanley and Viola (Noroski) Knapp. Beloved husband of Marianna Knapp. Father of Paul Knapp, Jr. (Kelly Gallagher) and Kelly Jo (Ian) Florida. Pap of Hannah and Jonathan. Brother of James (Gail) Knapp, and Eileen (Reid) Bright. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his 5 sisters, Bernadette, Rita, Mary Lou, Marcy, and Rosie. Paul was a Navy Veteran, having served in Rota, Spain in the late 60's. He was a welder for 28 years for US Steel and turned his welding skills into teaching and mentoring for US Steel employees after his retirement. He had a passion for singing and listening to good music. You could always find Paul at a local karaoke bar singing his heart out to Jimmy Beaumont and The Skyliners, The Holidays, and America. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and especially being with his grandkids. He had a charming way of taking 10 minutes to tell a 30-second story. Paul was one of the nicest guys one could ever have met and had the biggest heart. He will be sorely missed by those that knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Ryan McCutcheon Rhythm19 Fund, or any music charity of your choice. Friends will be received in the Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, 15207.
