Milisits Robert A. 68, of Squirrel Hill, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

Born on September 7, 1951 he formerly resided in Northampton, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph S. Milisits Jr. and Faye Danser; mother and father in-law Alvin and Violet Ott; brother in-laws Gary Ott, Jerome Ott, and Ray Kumm. Robert was very dedicated to his family and is survived by his loving wife of 41 years LaVonne Milisits; beloved children Ryan Milisits, Lauren (Francisco Gonzalez) Milisits, and Lindsey Milisits; Robert is also survived by his cherished family dog, Riley Milisits.

Robert graduated with degrees from both Penn State University and Robert Morris University. He spent much of his time heavily involved with youth sports programs. He had a strong passion for the game of chess and “Coach Bob” trained several state and national championship teams ranging from elementary school through high school. He was also proud of his status as a Free Mason, as well as an avid Phillies and Eagles life long fan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant Street, at 11 o’clock AM, followed by a celebration of life hosted by his family. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation in honor of Bob to chessintheschools.org
