Sage Y. Gardner

Sage Yvonne Gardner, age 43, of Greenfield, formerly of Casper, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Sage was preceded in death by her beloved spouse and "twin flame," Paul Thatcher.

She is survived by her cherished son, Charlie Thatcher, who was the center of her world; her loving mother, Kathy Gardner; her devoted father, Dan Gardner; and her siblings, twin sister Rose Gardner, brother Sudy Gardner, and Elizabeth Watson. She is also lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and Friendly the cat.

Sage had a deep passion and expertise in the arts, especially dance. Ballet and flamenco were close to her heart, and she found great joy in teaching, with a special gift for working with young dancers. She was also a talented visual artist who loved painting, crafting, and sketching, creating beauty wherever she went. Above all else, Sage adored her son Charlie and shared a special bond with her beloved cats.

Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15207. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Paul Cathedral Parish, St. Rosalia Worship Site.
