Stephanie Matvey

Stephanie Matvey 65, of Greenfield. Passed suddenly on Monday May 13, 2024. Preceded in death by her beloved parents Stephen A and Betty Kelley Matvey, brother Larry S  Matvey and sister in-law Liz Matvey. Survived by her loving brother Rick (Christine) Matvey; Nephews Stephen R. (Abby Yochum) Matvey, Larry (Kim) Matvey, and Mike (Kim) Matvey; Great nieces and nephews Luke, Jordan, Simon, and Arlyn. Also survived by her fiancé Michael Lane.  Stephanie was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, along with furthering her education at Carnegie Mellon University. She taught English in both Japan and China. After she returned from overseas, she was employed at Carnegie Mellon University for 24 years in both the robotics department as an administrative assistant and as a accounting assistant for the university libraries. Stephanie also loved to volunteer making meals and blankets for the homeless and enjoyed playing scrabble where she met her fiancé. Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 P.M. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association.
