Tanney Thomas ‘Tom”, 86 Formerly of Forest Hills. Passed peacefully in his home at Point Pleasant Retirement Community on Friday January 13, 2023. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years Nancy and sons-in-law Jim Kirby, and Sonny Cohen. Survived by his loving daughters Barbara (Dennis) Kirby, Peggy (Tony Duronio) Tanney, and Susan Cohen. Beloved Pappy of Hannah (Sam Caraballo) Kirby, Katie (Markus) Ernstberger, Joe (Morgan) Cohen, and Mary (Dylan Akarman) Cohen. Pap-Pap of Elizabeth Cohen, Oliver Ernstberger, and Charlotte Cohen. Also survived by his sister Virginia Russell and brother Timothy (Diane) Tanney. Favorite Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Tom was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W for 54 years. He was passionate about helping others and never met a stranger. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-8P.M. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Funeral Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home with funeral mass at 10 A.M. at St Paul Cathedral Parish St. Rosalia Worship Site. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center, 148 Monastery Ave. Pittsburgh Pa 15203.
