William M. Fidel

William M. Fidel, 84, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, January 30th.

Beloved husband of 46 years to the late Linda Fidel. Loving father of Charles (Melissa) Fidel and Jennifer (James) Query. Pap to John Fidel (Allie Barry), Cailtin (Adam) Swink, Morgan Fidel (Ryan Taylor), Damian Fidel (Sierra Twigg). Pappy to Grace, Emmett and Susanna Query. Great-Grandpap to Lily, AJ and Myla Swink, and Kash and Koah Fidel. Bill is also survived by one brother, George, of East Amherst NY and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was an Allderdice High school graduate and United States Navy veteran. He worked at U.S. Steel and attended Point Park University on a full scholarship. He was a proud Greenfielder and longtime treasurer of the Slavonic Political Citizens Club in the Run. A committed runner into his eighties, Bill completed many marathons, half-marathons and countless other races. He loved animals, especially dogs, and is also survived by his devoted pal, Enzo.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Funeral Thursday, at 9:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Cathedral Parish--St. Rosalia Worship Site. Burial at Jefferson Memorial Park.
